The author extensively discusses the structure of the orchestras, the repertoire of certain bands, the 'petit-histoire' of the 'greats' of jazz, in short, a colorful book about the Roaring Twenties. To name a few: Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Joe 'King' Oliver, Fats Waller and many others.
